The fabulous Lady Boys of Bangkok are back in spectacular style with the new 2010 production of the country’s favourite cabaret party show.
It’s non-stop entertainment all the way. From Lady Gaga to the Saturdays from Sarah Brightman to Bryan Adams... from a fantasy in outer space to the intensity of sensuous Latin rhythms. from West End musical to Hollywood blockbuster. the hits keep on coming as only Lady Boys of Bangkok can deliver. Also singled out for special attention is their favourite Thai TV show – BANGKOX GOT TALENT. But other than saying they are inviting some “celebrity guests” they are keeping the details very close to their ample bosoms.
In a flamboyant extravaganza combining the heady spice of Bangkok's exotic nightlife with the glamorous showgirl appeal of Las Vegas, The Lady Boys of Bangkok is staged in the unique ambiance of the Sabai Pavilion, in Derby, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Leeds and Belfast. Performed by 16 of the world’s most beautiful show-girls (who just happen to be men!) it’s the show everyone talks about! The fantasy starts as soon as you enter the fully carpeted Sabai Pavilion. You have left behind your daily existence and are transported to Bangkok’s exotic nightlife. Inhale the aroma of freshly prepared Thai food – then choose from a range of mouth-watering dishes. The licensed bars in the foyer and auditorium are stocked with a wide range of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks. The Boudoir is stocked with an amazing range of delightful souvenirs, novelties, hats, masks and exclusive Lady Boys of Bangkok DVDs – the perfect reminder of a great night out.
In the Cabaret Room, you will be escorted to your table by Thai hostesses wearing traditional silk costumes. Executive Producer Carol Gandey said she was delighted to bring the show back to the UK for a 12th successive year. “During our 2009 tour there was a large increase in the number of men accompanying their wives or partners to the show. Many of them have told us they were sorry that they hadn’t been to see the show in earlier years. In fact several have told us they thought their wives or partners had been deliberately putting them off coming to see the show so that they could have a really good girl’s-night-out!”
She added “There is also a continuing increase in the number of hen-parties due to the special package we offer.”
Director Phillip Gandey said “The Lady Boys of Bangkok now occupies a unique position in the world of entertainment. When we staged the first show in Edinburgh 12 years ago, there were those who said it had no future. Yet each year our audiences continue to grow and our productions become more ambitious. Laughter is a vital element in every show. Our audiences want a good night out – a night where they can really let go and enjoy themselves."
